Level 20 is pleased to publish Family Leave in private equity: a review of policy, practice and impact.
The report aims to:
- Provide detail on family leave policies and practices in private equity across Europe to encourage discussion of the topic
- Provide firms with an indication of market practice to assist in review and evaluation
- Begin to assess the impact of family leave and support provision on the wider industry
The research includes data from over 100 firms with offices throughout Europe who shared their insights through surveys, focus groups and interviews during 2023. Insights are structured by findings at an all-firm level, followed by analysis by AUM band and headquarters region.

This research forms part of Level 20’s research programme, the aims of which include providing workforce data, industry insight and insights into market practice. It follows our previous work, where family leave was highlighted as key to the attraction, retention and promotion of women to senior roles in the industry.
