Level 20’s European Gender Diversity Report 2024: Women working in European Private Equity & Venture Capital, reveals an optimistic picture across geographies, but progress is less linear when compared against seniority, AUM bands and strategies.

The second edition of Level 20’s Report on gender diversity in European Private Equity and Venture Capital shows nearly one in four investors are now women and an overall growth of women in senior roles across the industry.

Alongside the key data and insights, results are broken down by investment strategy and assets under management. The research also includes a useful benchmarking tool — enabling firms to understand where their firm sits in relation to their market and the AUM band which they belong to — as well as featuring feedback and actions to drive change.

This research is vital in allowing Level 20 to understand the gender equity challenges that exist across its European chapter countries. The data and insights contained in this report will inform and support Level 20’s wider programmatic work over the coming years.

The benchmarking tool is optimised for Excel on desktop

The ongoing aim of our research is to continue to engage the industry on the representation of women in investment teams and energise the discussion with fresh insights and analysis to keep moving the dial forward.

We are therefore pleased to see the progress made by firms across Europe since our last report in 2022 and encourage firms to continue with their efforts and engagement with Level 20’s work.
