I am honoured to take on this role as Level 20’s next Chief Executive. Encouraging greater diversity and inclusion has been a priority throughout my career and it is an issue I feel very passionate about.
I look forward to continuing to work with the private equity industry to build on the great strides Level 20 has already made and further grow the number of women in senior roles. I believe that working with industry leaders to develop inclusive cultures and better understand of the impact of unconscious bias will play a critical role in helping us to achieve a genuine shift in gender diversity.
Pam Jackson
New CEO
The Board of Level 20, the not-for-profit organisation established to inspire women to join and succeed in the private equity industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pam Jackson as Chief Executive, succeeding Jeryl Andrew, who retires from the role at the end of the year.
Pam brings over 35 years of experience advising international private equity firms and corporates on M&A and restructurings. She retired from PwC this year, having been appointed as the first female Partner in the Corporate Finance team in 1990 and most recently served as a member of the firm’s executive leadership team in the Middle East.
Pam has been at the forefront of the diversity agenda throughout her career, having established the PwC Female Partner and Director Group in 2001 with a mission to increase diversity at senior levels in the firm and has mentored a number of female and male colleagues through to partnership. Pam’s considerable contribution to promoting gender diversity has seen her included in the 2017 Cranfield Female FTSE Board Report’s ‘100 Women to Watch’ supplement and named the Woman of Achievement at the ‘Women in the City Awards’ in 2010.
It is a privilege to welcome Pam to lead Level 20. Her track record, international experience, network and personal passion for diversity will be significant assets to the organisation as we continue to pursue our goals. We are very grateful to Jeryl for her outstanding contribution over the past three years and all that the organisation has accomplished under her leadership.
The executive search for Level 20’s new CEO was handled by Egon Zehnder who worked closely with the Level 20 Board throughout this process. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ellen Garvey-Das and Liz Corrigan of Egon Zehnder for their hard work and expert advice.

Since its launch in 2015, Level 20 has significantly expanded its European network, with 11 committees now operating outside the UK. Its successful mentoring programme is this year supporting over 119 private equity professionals across Europe. In the UK, Level 20 continues to conduct research into the industry. This year it published a report “Women in Limited Partners 2019” in partnership with the BVCA. This followed a 2018 study on gender participation in GP firms. Level 20 is also increasingly focused on advocacy, having recently launched a toolkit of best practice guidance for GP sponsors, and established a series of roundtables with managing partners to share ideas for creating more inclusive firm cultures. Level 20 counts over 2500 individual members.
I am delighted to hand over to Pam, and I wish her and the Level 20 team every success in continuing the important work of achieving greater representation of women in the private equity industry. In the last three years Level 20 has made significant progress in ensuring that the need to improve gender diversity is widely accepted by the industry. I am encouraged now by the response of GP firms of all sizes to recognise that changes are necessary for diversity and inclusion to flourish. I am proud of what has been achieved and look forward to following Level 20’s continued progress.
