Cheryl served as Chair of Level 20 from 2021-2024. Prior to this, she served on the Level 20 Advisory Council, and Chaired the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association for the 2019/20 year.
Cheryl is a Non-Executive Director at Marks and Spencer and Best Secret, an exclusive omnichannel retail fashion community for private members in the DACH region.
Cheryl spent much of her career at Permira, joining in 1999, becoming a Partner in 2005 and retiring from the partnership at the end of 2019. During her time there, she lead the Global Consumer Team and the London office. She also served on the firm’s Executive Committee and the Compensation and Partnership Committee.
Transactions she worked on included Allegro Group, Arcaplanet, Creganna, Dr. Martens, Homebase, Iglo Group (and its subsequent acquisition of Findus Italy), Maxeda, Best Secret (formerly Schustermann & Borenstein) and The Reformation.
Cheryl is Founding Patron of Women Supporting Women (part of The Prince’s Trust) and a former member of Tick Tock, a fundraising committee for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Cheryl enjoys travel, food with friends, having more time to spend with her husband and three children, and walking her dogs. She is also a keen cyclist and skier who enjoys a bootcamp class when she has time!
